About Juice
A transparent paid leaderboard for independent iOS apps
Juice is a public experiment in paid discovery. Every visible rank is determined by a successful payment, not an editorial review, download count, App Store position, or private sponsorship deal.
What is Juice?
Juice is a ranked directory where independent iOS app makers can pay to place their app. The app with the highest eligible payment holds first place. Another maker can take that position by paying at least one dollar more than the current leader. The amount shown beside each app is the payment that currently determines its position.
How does the ranking work?
Each app keeps its single highest eligible payment. Apps are ordered from highest to lowest amount. If two eligible payments have the same value, the earlier payment ranks first. A checkout that is abandoned, expired, unpaid, disputed, refunded, or invalidated never counts toward the active leaderboard.
How are payments verified?
Stripe Checkout processes payments. Juice activates a placement only after receiving and verifying a server-to-server Stripe webhook. The amount and currency in that webhook must match the recorded checkout. Browser redirects and screenshots cannot activate a rank.
What Juice does not claim
A Juice rank is paid placement. It is not evidence that an app is better, safer, more popular, or more profitable than another app. The separate “Popular on the US App Store” strip uses Apple’s public Top Free Apps chart and is explicitly not part of the Juice leaderboard.
Corrections and availability
App names, icons, descriptions, categories, and ratings come from Apple’s public metadata services and can change. Removed or unavailable apps may be hidden from active placement while historical financial and ranking records are preserved. Questions or correction requests can be sent to @fberrez on X.
